Accessibility
Last reviewed: 2026-06-18
We want SproutAtlas to work for everyone, including people who use a keyboard, a screen reader or screen magnification. We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA.
What we’ve done
- A “skip to content” link, visible keyboard focus and a logical heading order on every page.
- Semantic landmarks and labels so assistive technology can navigate the structure.
- Live regions that announce the impact figures as you change country or adoption, and a slider that reports its value.
- Text that meets AA colour contrast, with meaning never carried by colour alone, plus reduced-motion support and text alternatives for the comics.
Known limitations
- Most translations are machine-generated and still under review, so some wording may read awkwardly.
- Choosing a language from the top menu reloads the page; the language links in the footer are an equivalent, more predictable route.
